Staphylococcus aureus is one of the major pathogenic bacteria in food, nosocomial infections and cosmetics field. To establish and develop a rapid detection method is important for the prevention and control of diseases caused by bacteria. This article brief introduces biological characteristics and epidemiological features of Staphylococcus aureus with an emphasis on the recent rapid detection methods.
